An exhibition, in the most general sense, is an organized presentation and display of a selection of items. In practice, exhibitions usually occur within museums, galleries and exhibition halls. Exhibitions include art exhibitions, as in major art museums and small art galleries; interpretive exhibitions, as at natural history museums and history museums, for example; and commercial exhibitions, or trade fairs.

The word "exhibition," is usually, but not always, the word used for a collection of items. Sometimes "exhibit" is used synonymously with "exhibition," but "exhibit" generally refers to a single item being exhibited within an exhibition.

Exhibitions may be permanent displays or temporary, but in common usage, "exhibitions" are considered temporary and usually scheduled to open and close on specific dates. While many exhibitions are shown in just one venue, some exhibitions are shown in multiple locations, such exhibitions are called travelling exhibitions.

Though exhibitions are common events, the concept of an exhibition is quite wide and encompasses many variables. Exhibitions range from an extraordinarily large event such as a World's Fair exposition to small one-artist solo shows or a display of just one item. Curators are sometimes involved as the people who select the items in an exhibition. Writers and editors are sometimes needed to write text, labels and accompanying printed material such as catalogs and books. Architects, exhibition designers, graphic designers and other designers may be needed to shape the exhibition space and give form to the editorial content.

How long does the Harry Potter Exhibition take to go through?
Q. I have tickets for next week at the Chicago exhibit and I am trying to make out a schedule and I was wondering if anyone knew approximately how long it takes to go through the entire exhibition?

A. The Exhibition doesn't take that long to go thru. You can stay in it as long as you want. If you are going with a large group... be prepared to stay in the Souvenir shop for a while. I spent just as much time in the shop as I did in The Exhibit. I would give it an hour or more. If you pay for the $26 to see the entire museum too. It will be easier to create a schedule. I was in the museum for about 5 hours altogether... and my friend and I found the extra $8 worth it... because that way you can have something to do before your exhibit tour starts (seeing that they start at obscure times, I had 12:06) and although I am the kind of person who must have a list or schedule, spontaneous is much more fun.

A. Why don't you show the effects of driving too close. You can show how cars are affected when travelling on the highway in wrong formation. Time and distance are closely related. When cars follow too close to each other and one of those cars hits the brakes for any reason all the cars behind are exponentially affected. The ( variable) is the distance between each car. If the car in front of you brakes and drops his speed 10 MPH you will have to drop your speed depending how long it took you to react. The result is you have to drop your speed by 15MPH (guesstimating) or you will run into him... The guy behind you has drop his speed by 25 MPH and the guy behind him even more... And so on. Each car should have 50 yards between them. Closer… [cont.]
